A family of operational amplifiers featuring a gain-bandwidth product of 100 kHz typically requires an ultra-low quiescent current of 600 nA and a maximum quiescent current of just 1 µA.
Microchip Technology's MCP614-XA family consists of the MCP6141 single op amp, the MCP6142 dual op amp, the MCP6143 single op amp with chip select, and the MCP6144 quad op amp. All four offer rail-to-rail input and output that allow the full voltage supply range to be utilized from 5.5 V down to 1.4 V from −40°C to 85°C.
The company offers a software program that simplifies active filter design for embedded-systems de-signers using op amps for analog filters. The FilterLab Active Filter Design Tool provides full schematic diagrams of the filter circuit with component values. It displays the frequency response as well.
Pricing is $0.44 each for the MCP6141 single op amp, $0.46 for the MCP6143 single op amp with chip select, $0.58 for the MCP6142 dual op amp, and $1.02 for the MCP6144 quad op amp, all in 1000-unit lots. Samples and volume quantities are available. The devices come in eight-pin PDIP, SOIC, and MSOP packages or 14-pin PDIP, SOIC, and TSSOP packages. The FilterLab software is available at no charge from the com- pany's Web site.
