The latest incarnation of the PSoC Express development tool for PSoC mixed-signal arrays now includes over 60 additional drivers. The release also includes third-party development capabilities that allow developers to write modules for specific functions. The device drivers include 7-segment displays, thermocouples, accelerometers, I2C remote monitor, control devices, distance sensors, and ambient light sensors. Version 2.1 also adds a higher level of integration with the company's PSoC Designer software, allowing for complete designs at a high level using only PSoC Express or combining high- and low-level designs starting with PSoC Express and finishing with PSoC Designer. Other new features include user definable pins and memory map, a state machine creator, multi-object move capability, and the ability to duplicate and rename circuits. The application is available at no charge at the company's website. CYPRESS SEMICONDUCTOR CORP., San Jose, CA. (800) 541-4736
