Bio Benefits Claimed For New CRT Technology

Feb. 1, 1999

Through use of what is called Fresh BioDisplay technology, CRTs can be made that are said to be environmentally safer than a standard CRT. Among the claims made for the new CRTs are: increased delivery of carefully modulated light waves in the far-infrared portion of the spectrum to reduce stress on the viewer; reduced collection of electrostatic charge on the case's surface; and reduced electromagnetic radiation emanating from the front of the display. Fresh BioDisplay CRTs also embrace two other advances. They use a special ceramic coating on the CRT funnel that's said to lead to a lower positive ion count for the CRT and they employ a new, more efficient shielding method to further reduce the electromagnetic field in the monitor. Both advances are said to offer biological benefits.Fresh BioDisplay CRTs are being targeted at both computer monitors and TVs.
