The challenge of accurately inspecting high-resolution displays found on cellular phones, pagers, medical test instruments, and other electronic devices is said to be met by Display Inspect. This machine vision software and hardware package for inspecting displays, keypads, and enclosures on LCD and LED display-based products is able to reliably find defects despite a variety of manufacturing problems that can cause the part to vary in appearance, such as by part rotation, inconsistent lighting, or air bubbles that form in the transparent lens tape commonly used to protect displays. The system can also be used to perform a variety of other inspection tasks, such as for verifying the quality of print on logos, model numbers and keypads and for determining if keys or buttons have been placed in the correct position. It features a GUI that enables manufacturing engineers to easily configure inspection applications using Windows-based dialog boxes.
