Optical Transceivers Deliver Extremely High Port Density

This new family of small form-factor pluggable optical transceivers is said to deliver twice the port density of current industry standard removable transceivers. The SFP module is also claimed to be the first such device with an all-metal housing.

This new family of small form-factor pluggable optical transceivers is said to deliver twice the port density of current industry standard removable transceivers. The SFP module is also claimed to be the first such device with an all-metal housing. Versions are available for 1.0625 GB/s and 2.125 Fibre Channel, 1.25 GB/s Gigabit Ethernet, and 2.488 GB/s ATM OC-48 applications. Samples of all four versions are available now.
