Touted as an industry leader with an interpixel gap of 10 microns, a new mini pinpoint LCD display has been designed with all the same abilities as its predecessor, though measuring about half its size. Measuring 49.1 mm x 38.7 mm, with a viewing area of 46.7 mm x 34.1 mm, the mini PinPoint uses an HD66753 IC offering four levels of gray scale and a 128-step contrast adjustment. The module has a built-in dc/dc circuit and connection is via an 18-way FFC. Effective in handheld applications where high resolution and small size are required, the PinPoint is useful for PDAs, music players and cameras. The high contrast FSTN Silverback enhancement technology is complimented by the even brightness achieved by a blue EL backlight. Operating temperature ranges from –20°C to +70°C. Part number for the Mini PinPoint display is DV35309B160G128WF and pricing starts at $19 each/10,000. DENSITRON CORP., Santa Fe Springs, CA. (562) 941-5000.
