A new LCD has been designed with 160 large, easy-to-read dot-matrix characters. The LCM-H04004DSR/D2T has four lines of 40 characters, each measuring 5.16 mm x 10.52 mm high. Applications include machinery control panels, utility stations, printing presses, irrigation control panels, engine controls, monitoring panels, and instruments. The device has an STN transflective display with a built-in rugged and reliable LED backlight. Characters are formed by a matrix of dots totaling five across and eight high. The model has been designed with a temperature compensation circuit and electronically adjustable contrast. Operation is from a single 5V power supply, across a temperature range of –20°C to +70°C. Measuring 288.3 mm x 77.5 mm high, the LCD module has a thickness of 7.9 mm. Signal and power connections are made via a single 26-pin dual-in-line connector on the right side of the unit.
