Four different Fibre Channel (FC) testing functions can be performed by the FCAccess 4000, a multi function card for designing, developing, integrating and supporting Fibre Channel systems and devices. It can work as an FC Analyzer, FC Generator, FC Error Injector and FC Bit Error Rate Tester (BERT). As an analyzer, it captures FC traffic and displays it in an easy-to-read format. As a generator, it supports all standard FC topologies and port types, and can operate in host (initiator) or target mode. As an error injector, it allows the introduction of controlled error conditions into active FC links without affecting traffic or data-link integrity. As a BERT, it allows a user to ensure the reliability of copper or optical cables, connectors and other low-level devices. An API software package is available for designing and writing custom test suites in the C programming language. Pricing starts at $14,200 each.
