Optimized for portable industrial applications, the 2.7" NL2432HC17-04B and 3.5" NL2432HC22-41B QVGA-resolution, amorphous-silicon TFT LCD modules are capable of balancing high luminance and reflectivity to produce clear and vivid color in outdoor/indoor environments with high ambient light. Both modules offer a choice of two operating modes: a transmissive mode employing a backlight system as the spectral source and a reflective mode employing ambient light as the spectral source. They each include a touch panel, timing controller, and a dc/dc converter. The NL2432HC17-04B achieves a reflective ratio of 35% and a brightness level of 100 cd/m2 while the NL2432HC22-41B specifies a reflective ratio of 15% and a luminance level of 200 cd/m2. The NL2432HC22-41B delivers contrast ratios of 150:1 in transmissive mode and 15:1 in reflective mode. Samples of the 2.7" module are available now, while the 3.5" display is expected to be available during the first quarter of 2007. NEC ELECTRONICS AMERICA INC., Santa Clara, CA. (800) 366-9782.
