The GOLDELOX-GFX, described as a low- cost, configurable graphics processor, can interface with a wide range of popular LCD and OLED displays. Measuring 6 mm x 6 mm in a 28-pin QFN package, the device integrates high-level graphics and I/O functions, controllable via an extensible virtual engine, plus digital I/O ports, 8-/10-bit ADCs, a 16-bit free-running timer, sound generation, joystick support, and one-wire and SPI interfaces. Users choose the display that fits the app, interface it to the processor on a PCB and choose the I/O depending on their system needs. They select the available GOLDELOX PmmC file that matches the display driver IC and download it into the GOLDELOX-GFX chip via the serial port. Code is written in 4DGL using the accompanying 4D Workshop editor and compiler. 4DGL, a graphics-oriented language, allows developers to write applications in a high-level language syntax similar to popular languages such as BASIC, C, and Pascal, and it works with any color display that supports an 80-Series eight-bit wide CPU interface.
