In its next generation, the OSLUX LED is brighter and smaller than previous incarnations and promises extremely uniform light as a product of the company’s UX:3 technology. Groomed for flash applications in cell phone cameras, the component has an area of 3.9 mm² and a height of 2.5 mm (previously 3 mm) and delivers an output to 150 lux. Of particular note, the dead spot, common to the center of the illumination area, is completely absent. The OSLUX LED is available with one of two lenses that determine the percentage of center brightness, 20% or 40%, distributed to the corners of the flash area. At a distance of one meter, the LED flash uniformly illuminates the subject in a rectangular area measuring 90 cm or approximately 3’ diagonal.
