Targeting high-performance DSP/FPGA processing applications, such as telecom and image processing, CommAgility integrated Xilinx’s Virtex-7 FPGA (XC7VX415T-2) and two TI TMS320C6678 multicore digital signal processors (DSPs) into its AMC-V7-2C6678 advanced mezzanine card (AMC).

Targeting high-performance DSP/FPGA processing applications, such as telecom and image processing, CommAgility integrated Xilinx’s Virtex-7 FPGA (XC7VX415T-2) and two TI TMS320C6678 multicore digital signal processors (DSPs) into its AMC-V7-2C6678 advanced mezzanine card (AMC). The fixed- and floating-point octal core DSPs run at 1.25 GHz,offering combined performance of 320 GFLOPS and 640 GMACS. Two 5-Gbaud PCI Express links connect the FPGA with each DSP. The AMC offers flexible connectivity to the backplane and front panel. On-board switches on the Gigabit Ethernet interface maximize flexibility and access to all DSPs on the card. An IDT CPS-1848 Gen2 Serial RapidIO (SRIO) switch supports SRIO at up to 20 Gbits/s per port. Each DSP includes 2 Gbytes of high-bandwidth DDR3-1333 SDRAM; an additional 512 Mbytes x 16 of DDR3-800 SDRAM and 1 Gbyte x 32 of DDR3-1250 SDRAM is provided for the FPGA. There’s also 256 Mbytes of flash memory.
