Lantronix Teams Up with Freescale on Wi-Fi

November 21, 2013. Lantronix has announced a collaboration with Freescale Semiconductor to provide engineers with an easy-to-use, versatile development platform to simplify the task of adding intelligent Wi-Fi connectivity to products.

Consisting of the xPico Wi-Fi embedded module from Lantronix and the Tower System platform from Freescale, the xPico Wi-Fi Tower Board will allow developers to quickly bring Wi-Fi-capable products to market at reduced development costs.

Compatible with a range of Freescale embedded microprocessors and controllers, the xPico Wi-Fi tower module offers design engineers an easy-to-use, versatile, and modular development platform that truly simplifies the task of adding Wi-Fi to their product.

Freescale's modular development platform saves design engineers months of development time through rapid prototyping and tool re-use. Interchangeable and reusable modules, along with open source design files, make it easy to customize designs and reduce low-level design. Sold in kits or as individual modules, the expansion of the Freescale Tower System from a development tool into a development platform is simple and cost effective.
