    Power supply addresses test-and-measurement challenges

    Evaluation Engineering

May 29, 2014. SL Power Electronics has announces its 425-W, single-output TU425 Series AC/DC power supply. This latest offering addresses the unique needs of all types of test equipment such as oscilloscopes, analyzers, test boards, and chromatography mass detectors, as well as industrial process-control systems that require clean, reliable power for the highest level of performance.

Up to 90% efficient, the TU425 measures 3 x 6.2 x 1.62 in., fits into a compact 1U high chassis, and provides 300 W with convection cooling or 425 W with forced air. Designed with EMC and EMI protection, the TU425 model features a -10°C to +70°C operating temperature range and will start-up at -40°C, providing optimum thermal performance and eliminating the need for a costly heating element. Compliant to heavy industrial levels of the IEC61000-4 standards for EMC immunity and Class B Conducted EMI with 6-dB margin, the TU425 power supply features over 350,000 hours MTBF and uses long-life (>7 years) electrolytic capacitors in its design.

“We’re pleased to introduce our new TU425 power supply family that addresses problematic EMI and EMC issues that can wreak havoc with the performance of test equipment and industrial process control systems,” said Paul Kingsepp, product manager for SL Power Electronics. “Design engineers will appreciate the reduction of time needed on isolating the measurement part of their design from external influences. The TU425 AC/DC power supply gives our customers peace of mind when designing their test and industrial equipment, allowing them to get to market faster.”

Featuring a three-year warranty, the TU245 models are available at prices starting at $155 each in OEM quantities.
