Mitsubishi Electric adds second UPS test facility

September 11, 2014. Mitsubishi Electric, a designer and manufacturer of reliable, environmentally friendly uninterruptible power supplies (UPSs), announced that due to accelerated growth, it has added a 4-MW testing lab in Warrendale, PA. The new test lab will increase the company’s capability to test and demonstrate its energy efficient three-phase online, double-conversion UPS systems and related equipment.

Mitsubishi Electric’s testing labs provide customers with real-world electrical load testing, as well as performance and efficiency analysis under varying conditions. When performed pre-installation, the testing assures customers and their consultants that the installation and commissioning of the Mitsubishi UPS will be fast and flawless. In addition, potential clients can witness the industry-leading performance and outstanding quality Mitsubishi’s products offer.

Within the test facilities, customers can observe a variety of important UPS tests, including

  • short-circuit test,
  • AC input failure and recovery,
  • unbalanced load test,
  • output transfer test,
  • efficiency tests, and
  • UPS overload tests.

Mitsubishi Electric designs and manufactures reliable, environmentally friendly UPS systems to extend data-center uptime, prevent costly data loss, and protect against damaging power surges. “We’re pleased to open our second test facility where customers can come and see first-hand the superior quality and performance of our precision-engineered UPS systems,” said Dean Datre, general manager, Mitsubishi Electric Power Products’ UPS division. “Our customers are running mission-critical data centers where electrical power can’t be interrupted for even a millisecond. They appreciate the comprehensive test data on how their UPSs will perform in the real world. This gives them peace of mind that their operations will be safeguarded against damaging and business-disruptive power problems.”
