Richardson RFPD offers GaN MMIC power amplifiers in plastic packages

Geneva, IL. Richardson RFPD Inc. announced today the availability and full design support capabilities for four new GaN MMIC power amplifiers from Qorvo.

The TGA2813-SM, TGA2814-SM, TGA2817-SM and TGA2818-SM are available at power levels of 100 W, 80 W, 60 W, and 30 W, respectively, and operate up to 3.7 GHz (the 30-W TGA2818-SM). They feature power added efficiency (PAE) up to 56% (100-W TGA2813-SM) and gain up to 24 (60- through 100-W models), and they are offered in low-cost, space-saving surface mount plastic QFN packages.

The new devices are specifically designed to improve the size, weight and power (SWaP) performance in commercial and military S-band radar applications. Richardson RFPD offers evaluation boards for each device. More information is available at the Qorvo storefront webpage. Qorvo was formed by the merger of RFMD and TriQuint, announced in 2014 and completed in January 2015.
