Users of integrated circuits who experience performance problems such as shorts and intermittants with through-hole socketed QFPs reportedly can turn to Socket Eliminator adapters to solve these reliability issues. Designed to provide the reliable performance of a PGA socket, the adapters have an SMT land pattern on the top side to accommodate 100-, 132-, 144-, 176- and 208-lead QFPs. The bottom of Socket Eliminator adapters contains the corresponding number of PGA pins.
