By way of a blade, the company has added next-generation Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) and Serial ATA (SATA) storage interfaces to its flagship Xgig platform. Xgig Analyzer 3.0, which is the latest version of the company's storage area network (SAN) analysis and testing suite, also adds SAS and SATA protocols plus Xgig SAS Jammer, a tool to speed up testing of new prototypes through protocol compliance checking. The enhanced Xgig now has the ability to decode and analyze SAS and SATA traffic and to automatically detect errors in the protocols. It can provide time-correlated analysis of as many as 32 concurrent SAS, SATA, Fibre Channel or Ethernet ports or links and supports out-of-band signaling and spread spectrum clock. Features include multi-function and multi-protocol support, a 1-/2-/4-/10-Gb/s Fibre Channel analyzer, 1-Gb and 10-Gb Ethernet analyzer, 1.5-Gb/s and 3-Gb/s SAS and SATA analyzer, and analog pass through.
