Measuring 1.4" x 1.8", the OS3000 digital compass provides 3-axis operation and both RS-232 and USB interfaces. The component enlists a 24-bit a/d converter with digital filters to support a wide range of applications. Specifications include an accuracy to 1° azimuth, a 0.1° resolution, tilt-compensation up to ±60°, 0.1° resolution for roll and pitch, and a 50-kg shock rating. The compass also features a programmable update rate from 0.1 Hz to 20 Hz, an ASCII interface, and hard-iron calibration. Other features include a 3-axis Honeywell Magneto resistive sensor, MEMS accelerator, and RoHS compliance. Single-unit price is $249 or, in small quantities, $199 each/10.
