With an eye on user productivity, the TDS5000B series digital phosphor oscilloscopes (DPOs) promise to speed design-validation measurements with what is said to be the industry's first customizable user interface and context-sensitive, right-mouse-click menus. Called MyScope, the interface employs a drag-and-drop procedure that allows users to include required functions into a half-screen control window. Scope specifications include bandwidths from 350 MHz to 1 GHz, a sampling rate up to 5 Gsamples/s, capture speeds up to 100,000 waveforms per second, and 16M record lengths. Normally offered as options, six additional items come standard with each scope including a CD-RW drive and expanded PC memory. Pricing starts at $7,300. TEKTRONIX INC., Beaverton, OR.
