Targeted at component designers and manufacturers of dense wavelength-division multiplexing systems is a line of laser instruments, the newest members of the firm's existing line of fiber-optic testing equipment. When used with the company's oscilloscopes, reference receivers, BERTs, wavelength meters, SONET/SDH testers and optical power meters, the products satisfy the fundamental requirements for physical-layer test applications. The new products the- LPB 1100, LPB 1300 and LPB 1550 tunable laser diode source bench instruments- enhance the user's ability to fully characterize their designs. Combining the instruments with other high-speed communications test products is said to provide a complete bench solution for optical communications design. The instruments provide a full line of features across the spectrum of wavelengths required for DWDM test applications with tuning ranges reaching 100 nm.
