By way of Option 219, users of any of the five models that comprise the ESA-E series spectrum analyzers can perform all required calculations for noise figure and gain from 10 MHz to 26.5 GHz with the touch of a button. The option outfits the analyzers with seven different parameters, including noise figure, noise factor, gain, Y-Factor, effective temperature, hot power density (Phot), and cold power density (Pcold). Users can analyze captured data from different perspectives by switching between multiple views, graphical, tabular, or meter, all of which are available with pass/fail limit testing. A measurement personality automates steps in the process and guides the operator via setup diagrams or with context-sensitive help. The operator connects the noise source, presses a button to calibrate the instrument for the desired setup conditions, inserts the device to be measured, and the results appear immediately. Price for Option 219 is $4,500. AGILENT TECHNOLOGIES INC., Palo Alto, CA. (800) 452-4844, ext. 7862.
