An enhanced version of the company's E5052A signal-source analyzer, the E5052B features a tenfold improvement in measurement throughput and more precise analysis functions. According to the company, the new instrument has the fastest phase noise performance and best performance in a clock jitter measurement with the lowest jitter noise floor ever achieved with a 100-MHz offset frequency. The instrument specifies a bandwidth from 10 MHz to 7 GHz and a phase-noise-analysis offset frequency range from 40 MHz to 100 MHz. Maximum transient bandwidth in WIDE mode has been extended from 25.6 MHz to 80 MHz, and the instrument now packs more than 100 times longer memory than its predecessor. New features include amplitude modulation and base-band measurement modes. Price starts at $79,000. AGILENT TECHNOLOGIES INC., Santa Clara, CA. (800) 829-4444, item number 8124.
