Users can buy only as much bandwidth and test capability as needed with the 586 family of Transmission Test Sets. Designed for field test requirements, both the 586T (500 kHz) and the 1586T (1500 kHz) combine up to four instruments (digital multimeter, selective level meter, DTMF decoder and handset) in a single, easy-to-use unit. The highly flexible tools can be used for pre-qualifying xDSL lines, for testing two- and four-wire circuit integrity, and for installing and commissioning of POTS, datacomm, DDS, ISDN, HDSL and x DSL circuits. The units allow users to measure level, frequency and noise, VF and RF crosstalk, power influence, return loss and metallic measurements. Both models are well-suited for performing all the tests needed to properly quality 2-wire and 4-wire, leased or dial-up circuits for use with POTS, Pair-Gain, ISDN-BRI, DSL, HDSL, SDSL, ADSL, or DDS equipment.
