The BumbleBee handheld spectrum analyzer connects to the Hewlett-Packard iPAQ PocketPC. The calibrated receiver measures four wireless system bands: 902 to 928 MHz, 2.4 to 2.5 GHz, 5.1 to 5.5 GHz, and 5.5 to 5.9 GHz. Engineers can use the iPAQ's touchscreen to zoom in on the waveform for further analysis. Features include three waveform traces: peak hold, peak search, and user-selectable packet/interface triggers. The device can identify interference, hackers, and RF signatures, including Voice over Internet Protocol, RFID, IEEE 802.11 (b, a, g, and Bluetooth), and cordless phones and video. Dynamic range is greater than 40 dB, and level accuracy is «1.5 dB (25°C). Options include directional antennas and a 12-V car adapter. The BumbleBee costs $2500.
