A new 1-Gbps data module operating inside the standard Vanguard digital IC validation system provides up to 1-Gbps I/O data on eight pins. Each pin has separate input and output connections to the device under test to support fly-by operation, allowing the system to exercise I/O buses with no dead time for bus turnaround. The 1-Gbit data module can co-exist with the 500-MHz data modules. Vanguard systems provide up to 512 pins, with per-pin timing at 500 Mbps on each pin for verification, debug, characterization and analysis of complex digital ICs. Their interactive software tools and innovative CREST timing architecture enable design and test engineers to bring high-performance devices to market faster. Vanguard system prices start at less than $1 million.
