Assuming position as the market's first dedicated 16-channel audio analyzer, the APx586 provides 16 input channels and eight output channels, which expands on the company's true eight-channel audio analyzer. Further bolstering the instrument is version 2.0 of the APx500 Series measurement software, which relies on a flexible architecture that promises a lower cost per channel and faster testing speeds. APx v2.0 runs nearly twice as fast as APx v1.0, permitting 14 key measurements to be taken across 16 channels in 7 seconds. Added features include a real-time oscilloscope signal monitor with residual THD+N values, automated regulation for setting the optimal reference level, more high-/low-pass and weighting filters, an expanded multi-tone analyzer, and Measurement Recorder, which records repeated stress tests over time. The APx586 16-channel audio analyzer will be available in April with APx500 Measurement Software v2.0 included. Current APx585 users will be able to upgrade to v2.0 at no cost. Pricing is depends on system configuration and options. AUDIO PRECISION INC., Beaverton, OR. (800) 231-7350.
