Fast measurements and best-in-class dynamic range are promised in the ZVM, a 20-GHz vector network analyzer. The device addresses the design and production needs of wireless equipment manufacturers and semiconductor makers, who need efficient network analysis tools that can handle harmonics and spurious products at frequencies approaching 20 GHz. In a representative measurement, the unit can perform a measurement in only 650 ms. By using a broadband local oscillator for the receivers, fundamental mixing endows it with what's claimed as exceptional spectral purity and a dynamic range greater than 110 dB. The instrument also offers independent frequency settings for the its generator and receiver sections. Pricing starts at $72,000.
