Model-Based Solutions Enhance DFT Efficiency

March 15, 2007
Using Rhapsody ATG and Rhapsody TestConductor from Telelogic, developers of embedded/real-time applications can improve their productivity and their products' quality.

As a key component of its Design-for-Testability initiative, Telelogic has introduced an automated, model-based testing solution for the embedded/real-time market that fully supports the Unified Modeling Language (UML) 2.0 testing profile. The new offering includes the latest releases of the company's Rhapsody ATG and Rhapsody TestConductor. These products improve test productivity, product quality, and competitiveness, while reducing test and development costs by delivering the benefits of graphical modeling and automation associated with Model-Driven Development (MDD). They also provide a migration path from traditional code-based test development to model-based testing, and offer a new graphical test development approach that works seamlessly with the Rhapsody MDD environment.

The Rhapsody test solutions help users meet the challenges of increased design complexity by leveraging the power of abstraction permitted by graphical modeling of test cases. Developers can also boost their efficiency and flexibility by automatically generating the test harness and test cases, tasks that previously were time-consuming and error-prone. Additionally, the UML 2.0 testing profile can seamlessly integrate the entire design and test process into one cohesive MDD environment, which will improve configuration management and change propagation.
