The MS8608A is a single instrument that combines a transmitter tester, power meter, and spectrum analyzer for the analysis of 3GPP W-CDMA signals. With the ability to measure modulation analysis, code domain power, transmit power, adjacent channel power, occupied bandwidth, and spurious emissions, the unit is designed for measuring base stations and both mobile and base station amplifiers at both the R&D and production stages.
Covering 9 kHz to 7.8 GHz, the instrument is claimed as the only transmitter tester that supports 3GPP W-CDMA. It features an analysis bandwidth of 20 MHz and measures transmit power to an accuracy of ±0.4 dB. Adjacent channel power is -68 dBc at 5 MHz offset and -75 dBc at 10 MHz offset. The built-in power meter measures a frequency range of 10 MHz to 3 GHz and power levels of 40 dBm to -20 dBm. Amplitude measurements can be made down to -60 dBm at ±0.6 dB accuracy. Frequency/modulation measurements are made with typically <1% modulation accuracy and origin offset accuracy to ±0.5 dB.
Pricing for the MS8608A is $35,000. W-CDMA precision frequency software is priced at $2,200.
