With an eye on evolving optical communications networks, the ME7750A bit error rate test (BERT) system evaluates systems and modules operating from 25 to 43.5 Gb/s. The BERT system employs what is reported as the industry's only 12.5-Gb/s, four-channel pulse pattern generator, the MP1758A, and 12.5-Gb/s, four-channel error detector, the MP1802A.The test platform also incorporates a 4:1 multiplexer and 1:4 demultiplexer, with the multiplexers's output having a retiming circuit that uses a 40 G, D-type flip flop. This level of integration is said to allow the system to conduct a wide array of complex measurements. These include analyzing both the parallel and serial sides of 4:1 OC-768 (STM-256) and OC-192 (STM-64) mux/demux modules. Price: $890,000. For more details, contact ANRITSU CORP., Richardson, TX.
