Heralded as the industry?s lowest-cost, highest-performance alternative to modular test and measurement systems such as VXI and PXI platforms, the 34980A switch/measure unit is optimized for medium- to high-density applications in design verification, automated test, and data acquisition. The eight-slot mainframe contains core switch, measurement, and system-control features in an expandable and reconfigurable system. The unit?s 19 plug-in modules provide a range of functionality that includes low-frequency, RF, and microwave switching to 20 GHz, digital I/O, d/a converters, and counter/totalizers. A built-in 6.5-digit DMM allows signals to be routed directly to it without consuming a slot. Other features of the unit include USB, LAN and GPIB support and it can accommodate up to 560 two-wire multiplexer channels or 1,024 two-wire matrix crosspoints in a single mainframe. Starting price is $2,350. AGILENT TECHNOLOGIES INC., Palo Alto, CA. (800) 829-4444, item number 7925.
