Emerging as the first signal-creation software for mobile WiMAX and WiBro applications, the N7615A Signal Studio creates waveforms that comply with the WirelessMAN-OFDMA physical layer found in IEEE 802.16-2004, 802.16-2004/Cor1/D2 or D3, and 802.16e/D9 standards. Its ability to create downlink or uplink subframes in TDD or FDD makes it suitable for testing both base- and subscriber-station equipment. The software's intuitive graphical user interface provides access to the physical and basic MAC layer parameters including bandwidth, cyclic prefix ratio (G), sampling factor (n), Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) size (512, 1,024, or 2,048), and frame length. Via frame setup parameters, users can generate high peak-to-average power ratio downlink or uplink signals to test transmission chain components. Other features include the ability to create up to 16 incrementally numbered frames per waveform. Additionally, a free 14-day trial license is available at the company's web site. Price starts at $7,500. AGILENT TECHNOLOGIES INC., Palo Alto, CA. (800) 829-4444, item number 8035.
