ISI Capability Emulates Channel Loss for High-Speed BERT

Jan. 29, 2015
Keysight introduced adjustable and integrated intersymbol interference (ISI) capability for its J-BERT M8020A high-performance bit-error-rate tester (BERT).

Keysight introduced adjustable and integrated intersymbol interference (ISI) capability for its J-BERT M8020A high-performance bit-error-rate tester (BERT). The new function, which helps engineers emulate channel loss, is integrated into each pattern generator channel to streamline test setup. The J-BERT M8020A offers receiver characterization for single- and multilane devices operating up to 16 and 32 Gbits/s. The adjustable ISI option supports a range of loss up to 25 dB and 16 GHz, with linear loss curves and fine step resolution, to deliver enhanced receiver-characterization results.
