Socket a BGA24 using Extreme Temperature Socket offering excellent electrical performance from Ironwood Electronics
Oct. 4, 2021

Ironwood Electronics' latest socket, the SBT-BGA-6572, serves high-performance NAND Flash memory device test. Using stamped spring-pin contactors with an actuation force of 31 grams per ball, the socket has a cycle life of 125,000 insertions. The self-inductance of the contactor is 0.88 nH, with an insertion loss of less than 1 dB at 15.7 GHz, with a capacitance of 0.097pF.

Each contactor has a current capacity of 4 amps (60C rise), with a socket temperature range from -55ºC to +180ºC. Features include a floating guide for precise ball-to-pin alignment, an open top lid to expose device top surface for forced-air heating. Configured for BGA, 8x6mm body size, 1.0mm pitch, and 5x5 ball array devices, the SBT-BGA-6572 has a compression open-top lid and can be used for hand-test and quick-turn custom burn-in applications as well.
