Reportedly, the 7100 digital radio test set enables chip-set designers, software developers, and handset manufacturers to accelerate design development to meet the requirements of the 3GPP Rel-8 E-UTRAN, a.k.a., 3G LTE. According to the company, it delivers the most comprehensive testing capability for 3G LTE mobile devices available in a single bench-top instrument. Touch-screen technology provides access to all test functions and the instrument incorporates an integrated RF interface, baseband, and protocol stack. It simulates the network from the physical layer to the core network IP infrastructure, offering both parametric analysis and protocol logging and diagnostics. End-to-end IP connectivity allows analysis of the data throughput performance and latency. With a base frequency range up to 6 GHz, the 7100 handles both current and potential future spectrum allocations. Optional features include 2x2 MIMO, fading simulation, and a second RF carrier.
