Designed for use as embedded instrumentation, the M76 digital multimeter (DMM) promises precise voltage and current measurements for VME, VXI, cPCI, and PXI applications. Measuring 50 mm x 150 mm, the module allows users to configure specific I/O options without having to design custom I/O. Other features of the DMM include a 6.5-digit resolution, 20 measurement ranges including three resistance ranges through a two- or four-wire connection, and an accuracy of 0.01% on dc measurements. Based on a 24-bit sigma-delta A/D converter, the module samples frequencies between 10 Hz and 1 kHz, supporting resolutions of 22.5 bits at 10 Hz or 11 bits at 1 kHz. Other functions, such as auto-ranging, calibration, and limit testing, can be configured through software. Drivers are available for Windows NT, VxWorks, OS-9, QNX and Linux, downloadable at no charge from the company's website. The M76 costs $1,076. MEN MICRO INC., Dallas, TX. (972) 939-2675.
