Emerging as the industry's first high-speed downlink packet access (HSDPA) signal tester that meets all 12 HSDPA specifications as per 3GPP Release 5, the MD8480C combines physical layer testing with call processing analysis functions to simulate GSM, GPRS, W-CDMA, and HSDPA base stations. The tester supports the maximum HSDPA data rate of 14 Mb/s and exhibits a 200-ms response on the radio link control layer. It also supports all 3G/3.5G mobile communications systems in accordance with 3GPP Release 99 and can perform HSDPA and W-CDMA BTS tests simultan- eously. Other features include the ability to transmit up to 30 channels with a maximum power of -24 dBm per channel, transmit-power control range of 0 dB to -120 dB in 0.1 dB steps, and a level resolution of ±1.5 dB. In receiver mode, the tester has a main input level range of -30 dBm to +40 dBm and an uplink input level range of -50 dBm to +20 dBm. ANRITSU CO., Richardson, TX. (800) 267-4878.
