New software for the firm's Model 4500A RF peak power meter/analyzer and 4530 Series RF power meters gives those instruments highly complex statistical analysis features. And it gives them added capabilities for measuring power in next-generation wideband modulation scheme signals, such as W-CDMA, EDGE and 3G.Statistical modes available with the software provide users with the ability to fully analyze power distribution, including peak power over time. As a result, users can determine how often different power levels occur and the percentage of power switching, which can be used to analyze signal processing circuitry. The software also provides a time-gating capability, allowing the meters to calculate average power for more accurate measurement of wideband signals.
