Software Automates Testing For Wavesat WiMAX Chip Sets

March 27, 2007
A turnkey software package, IQfact from LitePoint Corp., simplifies testing of WiMAX products based on Wavesat chips in LitePoint’s IQmax-500 and IQmax-100 one-box test instruments.

The LitePoint IQfact test software for WiMAX products based on Wavesat chipsets is a turnkey package that runs on the IQmax-500 R&D and IQmax-100 WiMAX manufacturing one-box test instruments. The software, from LitePoint Corp., integrates seamlessly into the existing LitePoint IQmax API. The first IQfact release for Wavesat targets products based on the Wavesat Evolutive DM256 fixed WiMAX chipset. The company plans to extend support to other Wavesat fixed and mobile chipsets. The software—ready-to-go out of the box—contains a flexible operator interface, a test suite of manufacturer-recommended tests and test limits, and calibration and verification procedures needed for the manufacture of WiMAX products.

This LitePoint technology replaces more costly general-purpose test equipment while ensuring compliance with future changes to the WiMAX, WLAN, and MIMO standards. The IQmax-500 and IQmax-100 testers are wide-bandwidth devices that incorporate the capabilities of a vector signal analyzer, vector signal generator, spectrum analyzer, and power meter into one high-performance instrument. Wavesat’s WiMAX portfolio includes a full range of standards-based devices, software, and development platforms that support WiMAX 802.16-2004 and 802.16e-2005 certification.
