Expanding the WEBENCH online design environment, the Signal-Path Designer debuts as an easy-to-use toolset for selecting, designing, and evaluating critical data-converter and amplifier/filter components and circuits. The addition offers an intuitive, step-by-step guide to balance resolution, speed, and power consumption of a performance-matched a/d converter with the ideal filters, passive components, and amplifier to create an a/d converter with amplifier circuit. The tool also provides filter simulations for both the ideal and actual models for comparison purposes. The overall WEBENCH environment eliminates the need for tedious calculations and includes online tutorials in analog design. Other features include access to the latest SPICE models, parametric data, and package information. NATIONAL SEMICONDUCTOR CORP., Santa Clara, CA. (800) 272-9959.
