A pair of color vision sensors from Banner Engineering Corp. let users accurately find an infinite number of color variations, even in the most challenging color inspection applications, according to the company. The two-piece PresencePLUS Pro version features a compact camera and a separate DIN-mountable controller. Sealed Pro IP68-rated cameras are available for difficult industrial and washdown environments. The one-piece PresencePLUS P4 is available in in-line and right-angle configurations.

Using the included Color Match tool, developers can program the sensors to detect a specific color and unlimited color variations within the camera’s field of view. The sensor can combine color and shape data to identify minute variations. It can also monitor color consistency within the programmed range of acceptable color. The Pro and the P4 sensors incorporate a 752- by 480-pixel-resolution color CMOS imager. In addition to the Color Match tool, all models include a powerful suite of gray-scale tools, including Locate, Pattern Find, and Count; Geometric Find and Count; Edge; Object; Blob; and Average Gray Scale. They also come with the PresencePLUS Universal software, which allows a three-step point-and-click setup.

Other features include Ethernet, serial, and flexible discrete I/O capabilities and direct connectivity to EtherNet/IP and ModbusTCP industrial networks. ActiveX utilities allow users to export inspections, images, and results. The units operate on 10 to 30 V dc. Prices start at $3495. For more information, go to www.bannerengineering.com.
