Avnet Memec acquires Italian distributor

Avnet Memec recently finalized the purchase of semiconductor and embedded systems specialist distribution company ESCO Italiana.

Avnet Memec recently finalized the purchase of semiconductor and embedded systems specialist distribution company ESCO Italiana. Based in Monza, Italy ESCO Italiana has an annual sales turnover of approximately €30 million. In addition to Italy, the company's distribution activities stretch into Greece and Turkey.

Steve Haynes, president of Avnet Memec, says that "ESCO Italiana will be an excellent enhancement for our company. Apart from an ideally matching linecard, we found ESCO to have an extremely successful business model, well regarded by customers and suppliers alike."
