D&M Holdings acquiring Philips Sound Solutions

D&M Holdings Inc. (www.dm-holdings.com) has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Royal Philips Electronics’ (www.philips.com) Philips Sound Solutions, a developer of audio products for automotive and consumer markets.

D&M Holdings Inc. has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Royal Philips Electronics’ Philips Sound Solutions, a developer of audio products for automotive and consumer markets. Its products include DSP amplifiers; cone and flat speakers and assemblies, and wireless surround speaker systems. The unit’s automotive customers include BMW, Volkswagen, Toyota Europe, Seat, and Jaguar.

D&M Holdings will re-name the company D&M Premium Sound Solutions. D&M owns several other audio brands, including Boston Acoustics, which supplies audio systems for Daimler Chrysler and General Motors vehicles in partnership with Visteon.
