    Proficiency, KEL translate legacy CAD for automaker

    CAD interoperability specialist Proficiency (http://www.proficiency.com) has teamed up with IT provider Kanematsu Electronics Ltd. (http://www.kel.co.jp) to translate legacy CAD models for a large Japanese automobile manufacturer.

    CAD interoperability specialist Proficiency has teamed up with IT provider Kanematsu Electronics Ltd. to translate legacy CAD models for a large Japanese automobile manufacturer.

    The work will be done by KEL’s service team using Proficiency’s Collaboration Gateway and Completion Wizard tools. The firms said that as much as 95% of the translation will be automated and the rest will be done with a guided process that maintains corporate standards.
