Substantial improvements in quality, reliability and performance are claimed for the firm's latest series of voltage-controlled and temperature-compensated crystal oscillators as a result of integrating into the devices a second generation integrated circuit (2GIC). Among the new VCXOs' and TXCOs' features are: CMOS- and TTL-compatible output waveforms; frequency capability ranging up to 100 MHz; automatic gain control (AGC) to ensure oscillator start-up over the full control voltage range 0 to 5V or 0 to 3.3V; excellent rise and fall times and symmetry characteristics (45%/55%); and a TriState output disable feature that allows pc board auto testing. The VCXOs and TXCOs with 2GICs come in subminiature SMT packages.
