Direct monitoring and control of 16 analog inputs from thermocouples, RTDs, strain gauges, pressure sensors, photodiodes, bridge sensors, analog actuators, and 4 to 20 mA transmitters are provided by the QED Analog Conditioning Board. The card has 8 channels of 8-bit A/D conversion with up to 100 kHz sampling frequency and 8 channels single-ended, or 4 channels differential 12-bit A/D conversion with up to 30 kHz sampling frequency. It is typically controlled via a direct cable interface to the card's C programmable controller. And the board has a built-in thermocouple cold-junction compensation feature to simplify temperature measurement and control.
