The MAX13041 ±80V fault-protected CAN transceiver provides an interface between the protocol controller and the physical bus in a CAN node. Via advanced power-management features, the transceiver minimizes power consumption in ECU modules.

The MAX13041 ±80V fault-protected CAN transceiver provides an interface between the protocol controller and the physical bus in a CAN node. Via advanced power-management features, the transceiver minimizes power consumption in ECU modules. Additionally, the device specifies an extended ±80V fault-protected voltage range and ±12 kV human body model ESD protection on the CAN lines. Five modes of operation provide different levels of functionality to optimize power consumption. In sleep mode, the ECU powers down, reducing current consumption to 18 mA. Upon local or CAN bus activity, the device enables the on-board voltage regulator, restoring power to the entire clamp-30 node.
