The GZ capacitor is specifically designed to address DC blocking issues from 15 kHz to 40 GHz in optical transceivers. A small footprint conserves board space and is designed to match 0.15" and 0.20" micro strip widths. Assemblies combine high capacitance Ni-Au terminated MLCs for low frequency coverage. Specifically configured maxi dielectric single layer ceramics facilitate conventional surface mounting. According to the company, most applications will experience resonance-free performance of less than 0.5 dB through at least 26.5 GHz. Custom designs, including those to match wider strip lines, are available on request. Wire-bondable designs for applications where strip line matching is not imperative are also available. Pricing starts at $1 to $4. AVX CORP., Myrtle Beach, SC. (843) 448-9411.
