Said to be the first integrated common-mode choke and ESD protection IC for high-speed data line applications, the NUC2401MN combines high-bandwidth differential filtering, solid common-mode stop-band attenuation, and excellent ESD protection. The device is well-suited for a wide variety of applications, including USB 2.0, IEEE 1394, LVDS, MIPI, and MDDI. The NUC2401MN saves board spaces by integrating the equivalent of five discrete components into a DFN package measure 2.0 by 2.2 mm. The device offers common-mode EMI filtering along with ESD protection to ±12 kV, in accordance with the IEC61000-4-2 standard for contact discharge. Machine model and human body model ESD ratings are 1.6 kV and 16 kV, respectively. The cutoff frequency for common-mode noise reduction is 40 MHz, and typical common-mode impedance at 100 MHz and 500 MHz is 200 ? and 500 ?, respectively. The device’s maximum clamp voltage is 10 V at a peak current of 5 A. The maximum peak pulse current rating is 19 A. The NUC2401MN is available now at a price of $0.533 each in quantities of 10,000.
